Window Safety to Prevent Child Falls
Posted September 26, 2018
Is anyone aware of literature discussing the use of standard (manufacturer-provided) window locks and childhood falls? All of the literature I've reviewed recommends the following measures to prevent children from falling out of windows: window guards, keeping furniture away from windows, and using plants and/or impact-absorbing materials (i.e. wood chips, etc.) under windows. Are standard window locks considered adequate in preventing children from falling out of windows?
