Hello from ONF's newest member
Posted Le 31 juillet 2019
Hello everyone!
My name is Shameeza Allard, and I am the newest member of the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF). As a Knowledge Coordinator for ONF’s Prevention Team, I will play a key role in supporting the Loop and Loop Junior platforms along with the annual Fall Prevention Month campaign.
Previously, I worked with Sinai Health System to develop tools to advance population health. Specifically, I was involved in the development of neighbourhood-level geographies across Ontario as a basis for analysis and health planning. Throughout the project, I worked to translate the learnings and knowledge acquired from this process into a shareable field-guide. I was also involved in creating a panel management tool to support population health approaches in primary care. I look forward to utilizing my skills and experiences in public health, knowledge translation, and project management in my new role.
With my onboarding, ONF is saying goodbye to Mariel Ang. Mariel is moving on to explore a career in the health technology space and will be joining a startup company based in Toronto. During Mariel’s time at ONF, she made great contributions to the Fall Prevention Month campaign, and the two Fall Prevention Communities of Practice, Loop and Loop Junior. Mariel was instrumental in developing the Loop Junior platform and content as well as providing an update to the Fall Prevention month website. On behalf of ONF, we thank Mariel for her excellent work and we wish her the best of luck in her new position.
If you have any questions about Loop, Loop Junior, or Fall Prevention Month, please don’t hesitate to contact me at shameeza.allard@onf.org. I look forward to working with you all in our collective efforts to reduce falls across the lifespan!
Sincerely,
Shameeza Allard, BSc, MPH
