SAVE THE DATE: Town Hall on Childhood Fall Prevention, September 23, 2020 at noon until 1:30pm (EST)

Posted Le 29 juillet 2020

The implications of falls in children have been much studied. However, knowledge about specific initiatives and actions in preventing falls in children across Canada is limited.  For this reason, two environmental scans were conducted in the last two years to explore existing initiatives to prevent falls among children in Canada and understand the current context of the field of fall prevention in children.  In this webinar, the major findings from the environmental scans will be presented. Participants will then be invited in a discussion to share their views and experiences with falls in children as well as their suggestions for future actions.

Who is this for? Anyone across Canada working with children and their families, health service providers, injury prevention professionals, early childhood practitioners, students in post-secondary education, and anyone with an interest in child safety.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Common understanding of the Canadian context of, and capacity for, childhood fall prevention work

  • Common understanding of Canadian practitioner perspectives in doing this work

  • Collective actions identified in the field of childhood fall prevention (what, who, how and when)
